StratiCELL is participating in 5 European Research Projects

• MarkAge (FP7) (HEALTH-2007-2.2.2-3, European Study to Establish Biomarkers of Ageing): In the Integrated Project MARK-AGE a comprehensive and coherent Europe-wide population study will be conducted, aiming at the identification of powerful biomarkers of human ageing.
• Skintreat
  SkinTreat main objective is to realize the promise of customized remedy in the context of managing skin syndromes. The consortium intends to develop and validate nano-chemical and bio- technologies to achieve an accurate match between drugs, drug delivery vehicles, skin diseases and sub pathogenic skin conditions per individual. The project will lead to a new generation of pharmaceutical products, as well as consumer personalized service, which tailor a remedy per customer's needs.The development of personalized skin therapy protocols will involve non invasive methods as well as minimal invasive skin sampling, thus achieving an accurate diagnostics of skin condition, an extensive analysis of biological markers and the establishment of biological profiles corresponding to skin diseases and skin sub pathologic conditions. A bio-informatics data mining algorithm will be developed, together with multifunctional biomarker analysis software and a computerized decision support system, to enable a refined personalized diagnosis then to propose a personalized prescription. SKINTREAT concept will be evaluated by a pilot study.
• Linkage
  LINK-AGE is a Coordination Action within the 6th Framework Programme of the European Commission that aims at significantly extending existing European research in biogerontology. Such research is still fragmented, limiting the ability to progress in an area of great economic and social importance for the future of Europe. Coordination and Consolidation of European research in this field will represent a step forward to the formation of a European College of Biogerontology.
  LINK-AGE will support a closely coordinated programme of topic working groups, workshops and conferences, summer schools, and dissemination activities. Through its spreading activities, LINK-AGE will develop effective links with the wider public and industry, in order that translation into benefit of emerging knowledge of the underpinning science of healthy ageing can be exploited as rapidly as possible.
  The LINK-AGE Coordination Action includes 14 full members from 10 European countries (including one SME from Belgium) and is coordinated by the Facultés Universitaires Notre-Dame de la Paix de Namur in Belgium. Several other laboratories participate to some of the LINK-AGE actions as associates members.

• February 2007 - StratiCELL relocates its site of production and operational activities to CREALYS scientific park: Gembloux, Les Isnes, close to Namur.
