As from 2009 and according to the European cosmetic directive (93/35/EEC, 6th Amendment of the Cosmetic Directive 76/768/EEC) any animal testing for cosmetic ingredients or finished products will be banned. StratiCELL offers relevant alternative for cosmetic testing.
The European directive REACH (Registration Evaluation Autorization of CHemicals) implies the testing of already-registered and new chemical compounds prior to commercialization. Approximately 5000 laboratory animals are used nowadays to register any new chemical (Abbott A, Nature, 2005). StratiCELL also provides the right tools to avoid further aminal use for these types of tests.
